Jillian McNilly: Chelsea Piers, New York Harbor

In 1912, I said goodbye to Olympic and left a family heirloom behind—a peace offering, hidden where only my sister, Dory, would know to find it. Employed on the ship, she was supposed to retrieve and care for the heirloom, but distraction, betrayal, and heartbreak steered her far from it. Dory never sailed again after that last voyage; she never found what I had intended.
So, I’ve returned to Olympic to investigate the whereabouts of our family treasure. Will it still be where I left it? Will I go unnoticed in my search? What obstacles are sure to arise?

If the hunt is successful, delivering the heirloom to Dory will be a trick; tra-la, I don’t think she will even see me when I show up on her doorstep. But she must have my peace offering. It is the only way to mend her self-inflicted wounds from the past.
