Allric Tulzer: Cabin C4

Having insisted that my family and those in my employ stay behind, I am alone on Olympic, sailing toward England, finally able to have a few days to myself before setting out to find my grandfather. Together, we will sail back to the states where the most dismal of prospects await.

Born 1899 to Lyle and Julia Tulzer, I am the genetic heir to vast mental capacity, robust wit, and pleasing features. I have been the material recipient of the benefits or excesses the money from my father’s line could readily buy. After university, saturated in the wisdom and tradition of economics, philanthropy, history, and science, I paved a path away from my father’s money, assets, and interests to pursue private and public investments that have greatly profited my pocketbook.

I love and admire my father, but his benevolent shadow stretches long and deep amongst the populace of New York and surrounding states. My grandfather’s prestigious shadow stretches even further, clear across the Atlantic to be exact. I thrive on light. To remain in anyone’s shadow equates to the imprisonment of the soul. With my father’s full approval, I had to make a name for myself and produce accomplishments that belonged to only me.

I am financially and successfully unbeholden to any man; some expectations are not easily cast aside. May God show me how to accept my fate without losing the happiness and contentment I so desire.
